Aspen Film Members and Volunteers are invited to kick off the 39th Aspen Filmfest with an intimate Preview Party on October 2nd at the Annex Gallery in downtown Aspen.

Join Aspen Film Board Members and staff to welcome back our Director of Programming, Jane Schoettle, who will offer an exclusive overview of the festival and the films she had programmed this year. As a part of the Toronto International Film Festival for the past 18 years, Jane’s keen eye and creative intellect has gained her respect in the international film festival circuit. She first impressed our audiences last year when she curated our Academy Screenings, and we are thrilled to have Jane bring her talents and expertise to Aspen once again!

The Annex Gallery opened this summer and showcases the collaborative work of artists Mindy Karl and Dale Hollinger known as Karl Hollinger. Their artwork is an edgy pop compilation of iconic imagery. Karl Hollinger explores our institutions of politics, class and social values. They incorporate a variety of thought-provoking imagery to address the ideas and values that shape our collective view of society. They weave their stories with varied media and textures that become tales of America, Civil Rights, the environment, Africa, and Asia.
